Bangalore: Karnataka Urdu Academy Celebrates the Rich Legacy of Urdu with "Jashn-e-Urdu"
In a vibrant celebration of the rich cultural heritage of Urdu, the Karnataka Urdu Academy hosted the "Jashn-e-Urdu" event yesterday in Bangalore. The event was graced by esteemed Cabinet Ministers Zameer Ahmed Khan and Naseer Ahmed, alongside prominent personalities, Urdu enthusiasts, and educators, who all came together to honor and promote the beauty of the Urdu language.
The highlight of the evening was the launch of the Karnataka Urdu Academy's official website by the Minister for Minority Welfare, Zameer Ahmed Khan. This digital milestone marks a significant step towards making Urdu language resources more accessible to the people of Karnataka.
In recognition of academic excellence, the students who achieved the highest marks in the "Learn Urdu" course were honored with awards and mementos, celebrating their dedication and commitment to mastering the language.
In a significant announcement that underscored the government's commitment to the promotion of Urdu, Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan declared that up to ₹15 crore will be allocated to the Urdu Academy in the upcoming state budget. This funding is expected to greatly enhance the Academy's mission to promote and preserve the Urdu language throughout the state.
Members of the Karnataka Urdu Academy, including Prof. Muhammad Azam Shahid, Shaista Yusuf, and Dr. Natiq Ali Puri, spoke to the media about the Academy's strategic plan to systematically promote Urdu across Karnataka.
